How does NEXIUM 24HR Work?NEXIUM 24HR Once Daily Dosing Tablets work by blocking the reabsorption of calcium (calcium in the form of Magnesium Trihydrate) in the kidneys (by way of by-pass) which is then processed by the kidneys to enhance the acid environment of the stomach and bloodstream. This allows acid to enter the esophagus, causing gastro-oesophageal reflux and reducing the frequency of heartburn and other symptoms associated with constipation. The by-pass process is by-pass for 24 hours and then daily for 14 days. Once taken by mouth, NEXIUM 24HR Once Daily Dosing Tablets are absorbed by the large intestine and used to treat symptoms of frequent heartburn and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
What are the Side Effects of NexIUM 24HR?The most common side effects of taking NEXIUM 24HR are diarrhea, indigestion, back pain, headache, muscle aches, pain in arms or legs, and stuffy or runny nose. Contact your doctor if you notice any of the following: abdominal pain, bloating, stomach pain, constipation, indigestion, dry mouth, rapid or irregular heartbeat, and dizziness. Stop use and see your doctor immediately if these symptoms appear.

Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company that developed and marketed the world’s most recognised brand, has agreed to pay $2.6bn (£0.7bn) in civil embroiled to settle a long-running civil settlement case relating to the sale of its branded drug Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium). The company, owned by Pfizer, has agreed to pay a civil settlement of more than $400m to resolve the case, which was settled in the US in 2015.
Pfizer has agreed to pay an initial payment of $300m to settle a number of related cases in the US and in the UK, while maintaining a defence obligation to pay a further $200m.
In a separate agreement, Pfizer agreed to pay a civil settlement of $800m to resolve the ongoing settlement case relating to the sale of its generic drug Prilosec (esomeprazole magnesium). The total amount paid to resolve the ongoing cases was $3bn.
The company said the civil settlement agreement would be completed within the next four years. It is not clear what happened to the $2.6bn, and the case relates to the sale of Nexium and Prilosec to a customer. In the US, Pfizer agreed to pay an upfront payment of $3.5bn to resolve the ongoing cases, subject to customary liabilities, which will be determined by the company following a settlement conference. Nexium 24HR is a 24-Hour Prevacid treatment that helps to treat symptoms of acid reflux by preventing acid production in the stomach.
Nexium 24HR may be taken with or without food. It may take longer to start working if you take it with a heavy meal.
It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions when taking this medicine. Nexium 24HR works best when started on a low dose and continued for the full 24 hour period. If you have trouble taking the medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Safety Information
Do not use Nexium 24HR if you are allergic to esomeprazole or pantoprazole, rabeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed.Important
If you have severe stomach pain, pain that worsens when you stand up, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, stop taking Nexium 24HR and contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Do not use this medicine if you are older than 65 and have severe asthma, had a stroke, had head or neck or back pain, or if you have had a stomach ulcer. Use this medicine for the full time of your medicine, even if it has stopped working. Do not use this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless your doctor prescribes it.
Side Effects
The common side effects are headache, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, stomach pain, and headache. More serious side effects, though rarer, are a sudden decrease or loss in vision, hearing loss or an abnormal increase in the amount of acid in the stomach, which may cause painful or difficult urination. Seek immediate medical help if you experience any of these side effects or have any concerns about them.
Warnings
Not to be used if pregnant or breast feeding, or if you are allergic to esomeprazole or pantoprazole, rabeprazole or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. If you have acid-related skin or hair loss (including dermatitis, anagen polyp, hair loss on the face, and hair loss on the scalp), or stomach or intestinal problems such as heart problems, you should not take Nexium 24HR. Discuss your medical history with your doctor, especially of the type of heartburn you are taking Nexium 24HR. Discuss any other allergies you may have.

Store at a cool and dry place where the temperature stays below 30 degrees C (104 degrees F).
