What is esomeprazole?

Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat various gastrointestinal (GI) conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. Esomeprazole is also used to treat stomach ulcers caused by medications such as ranitidine, famotidine, famciclovir, and indigestion. Esomeprazole is a PPI that works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This reduces the symptoms of acid reflux, esophagitis, and acid reflux caused by medications like esomeprazole. Esomeprazole is usually taken once a day, usually 1 to 3 times daily. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat duodenal ulcers, peptic ulcers, and gastric ulcers caused by medications such as famciclovir and indigestion. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat severe stomach ulcers caused by medications such as esomeprazole and omeprazole. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat acute gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers caused by medications like esomeprazole and omeprazole. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat duodenal ulcers, duodenal peritonitis, duodenal ulcer treated with duodenoscopy, and duodenitis is caused by medications such as esomeprazole and omeprazole. Nexium Controlis a prescription medication that is available to patients under the brand name Nexium for heartburn. Patients can take Nexium Control once a day, with or without food. The active ingredient in Nexium Control is esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate. It works by blocking the absorption of stomach acid, allowing the stomach to heal more quickly. Nexium Control is only available with a doctor's prescription, so patients can take it once a day, without a doctor's prescription. Patients must follow the instructions on the prescription label carefully and only take Nexium Control once a day. Do not take Nexium Control more than once a day, and do not take it more than four times in 24 hours.
